Description:
Workshop Type:
Weekend
Facilitator:
John Doherty
This course is designed to support and provide training for those in leadership or who work with group dynamics. John’s skills and training in mindfulness practices will encourage authenticity with self before engaging with others – adding power and satisfaction to the leadership mix. This weekend provides an overview of the behaviour and processes of management planning and decision making in groups. Learn simple, effective ground rules for group interaction, active listening skills and evaluation/feedback techniques with particular focus on understanding group dynamics and facilitator skills. Includes input on contracting with a group or in a meeting, adult learning styles, Non Violent Communication (NVC) and developing roles/professional identities. Plenty of time for both theory and experiential role playing to encourage the learnings to come alive and build confidence. The course is suitable for anyone in a leadership, managerial or facilitation role. It has been well attended by lawyers, teachers, trainers and a whole range of professionals looking to improve their skills. The weekend is equivalent to 21 hours of CPD (continuous professional development) and is open to people of all levels of experience.
Led by John Doherty, who has been training and facilitating in organisations for the last 23 years. John is also a contemplative teacher & professional supervisor providing a reflective space for professionals to develop and process their work (www.thebeehive.ie)
